The DOJ reported that approximately 4 billion dollars are awarded to compensate premises liability injury victims each year. The most common types of premises liability lawsuits are those filed on behalf of children, trespassers, and visitors. If a child is injured on someone else’s property, for example, the owner may be sued for failing to provide safe conditions for children. If a person is injured on someone else’s property and they are not a trespasser, the owner may be sued for failing to provide adequate warning of dangerous conditions. If someone is injured on someone else’s property and they are a trespasser, the owner may be sued for failing to provide adequate warning of dangerous conditions.
