Who is listed
We list personal injury law practices that operate from an office in the states we cover, starting with Michigan. We find them in public business listings (Google Business Profiles), and include a practice only when it is described as a personal injury practice and shows as open. Duplicate profiles of the same office are merged into one listing.
Firms do not apply, and we do not accept submissions. A firm that is already listed can claim its profileto receive case requests directly and to tell us when its details change. Claiming changes how requests reach the firm. It never changes a firm's ranking or its reported results.
How firms are ranked
Within each city, firms are ordered by their Google rating, weighted for how many reviews they have. We blend each firm's rating with the statewide average as if it had 20 extra average reviews, so a 4.9 from 300 reviews ranks above a 5.0 from three. Firms with no reviews appear last. No firm pays for its position.
Ratings reflect what reviewers chose to write, and can be incomplete. Treat them as one signal among several, and read the lowest reviews yourself.
Verdicts and settlements
Many firms publish the results they have obtained for clients on their own websites. We read those public pages and record each individual result of $1,000,000 or more as facts only: the amount, whether it was a verdict or a settlement, the type of case, the year and county when the firm gives them, and the page it came from. We do not copy firms' descriptions of their cases, and we do not use paid verdict databases as a source of listing content.
Each result carries a label that says how far we have been able to confirm it:
- Reported by the firm: taken from the firm's own website, with a link. Not independently verified.
- Press-reported: also reported by a news organization, which we link.
- Verified: confirmed against a court record.
Most results on the site are labeled "reported by the firm". When we find a court record or an independent news report that confirms a result, we mark it ✓ and link to that source, and when a court later reduced or reversed a verdict we know about, we add a dated note or remove the result. Firms with several offices, or offices in several states, report results from all of them. Settlements shared by a whole class or community, such as class actions and multidistrict cases, are not counted as a firm's individual results. A firm earns the gold "$1M+ results" badge by reporting at least one individual result of $1 million or more. Past results never guarantee a similar outcome, and the size of a result depends on the facts of each case.
Attorneys
Firm profiles list the attorneys each firm names on its own website, with the titles the firm gives them and a link to their profile there. We credit a lawyer with a result only when the firm's own write-up of that result names them, and a lawyer gets a page of their own only when at least one $1M+ result is credited to them. Firms whose websites list lawyers across many states aren't listed lawyer by lawyer. To check any lawyer's license and discipline history, use the State Bar of Michigan's member directory and the Attorney Discipline Board.
Results records, the leaderboard and badges
Each firm that reports $1M+ results gets a results record on its profile: how many it reports, the largest, their combined value, how many were jury verdicts, and which types of case they came from. The Michigan leaderboard ranksfirms on the same numbers. A firm with several offices counts once.
Badges follow fixed rules, applied the same way to every firm. No firm can pay for one:
- Top 10 for $1M+ results: One of the 10 firms in the state reporting the most results of $1 million or more.
- Independently confirmed: At least one of its reported $1M+ results is confirmed by a court record or a news report we link to.
- Eight-figure result: Reports at least one verdict or settlement of $10 million or more.
- Jury tested: Reports at least three jury verdicts of $1 million or more.
- 10+ club: Reports ten or more results of $1 million or more.
- Wide range: Reports $1M+ results in four or more types of case.
- Multi-county: Names three or more counties among its $1M+ results.
- Recent result: Reports a $1M+ result dated this year or last year.
- Decade-long record: Its dated $1M+ results span ten years or more.
These numbers describe what a firm chooses to publish. They are not a grade of its skill or its service: a firm that publishes more results will rank higher, many strong firms publish none, and no firm lists the cases it lost. How current it is
Listings, ratings and hours come from the business profile data at the date shown on each page. Results are re-checked when we refresh a state. If a firm stops publishing a result, it comes off its profile at the next check.
Corrections
If something on a listing is wrong, tell us with a link that shows the correct information. We fix factual errors promptly, and we will remove a result if the firm shows us it was recorded incorrectly.

A listing is not an endorsement or a referral, and this site does not give legal advice. Contacting a firm through the site does not create an attorney-client relationship. Choose a lawyer the way you would any important professional: talk to more than one, ask about their experience with cases like yours, and get the fee agreement in writing.
