Michigan's largest personal injury firms

No firm publishes its caseload, so we estimate size from what we can see: the lawyers each firm lists on its own website, its Michigan offices, its Google reviews across those offices, and the $1M+ results it publishes. By our estimate, Mike Morse Injury Law Firm is Michigan's largest personal injury firm: 78 lawyers on its website, 13 Michigan offices, 9,147 Google reviews.

How we estimate size: each signal is scaled from 0 to 1 on a log scale against the largest firm's value, then weighted: lawyers listed on the firm's own website 40%, Google reviews 30%, Michigan offices 20%, $1M+ results published 10%. A firm's lawyer count is used only when its reviews (50+) or published results (3+) show an injury practice of some size, so a general practice whose lawyers mostly work in other fields isn't counted as a large injury firm; "—" means the firm's website lists no lawyers we could read, or it's a national firm whose list isn't Michigan's, and its estimate rests on the other signals. Offices sharing a website are one firm. Google data and websites as of September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What is the largest personal injury law firm in Michigan?

By our estimate, Mike Morse Injury Law Firm, followed by The Sam Bernstein Law Firm, Michigan Auto Law, Buckfire Law Firm and Morgan & Morgan. We estimate size from the lawyers each firm lists on its own website, its Michigan offices, its Google reviews and the $1M+ results it publishes, as of September 2026; no firm publishes its caseload, so this is an estimate.

What is the largest personal injury verdict or settlement reported in Michigan?

The largest single result a Michigan firm reports is a $896.5 million verdict in a car accident case, reported by Scott Goodwin Law P.C. and Marko Law Firm. Jury verdict of July 27, 2026 (Oakland County). An appeal was expected; no post-trial ruling found as of September 2026. A jury verdict is not what is finally paid until post-trial motions and any appeal are decided, and past results do not guarantee a similar outcome.

How many personal injury law firms are in Michigan?

Together they had 688,827 residents in the 2020 Census. Many firms take clients statewide, so the nearest office may still be a phone call away.

Which Michigan county has the most injury law offices per person?

Among counties with 50,000 or more residents: Grand Traverse County (17.9 per 100,000 residents), Oakland County (16.5 per 100,000 residents) and Genesee County (12.3 per 100,000 residents). Statewide, it's 7.7 per 100,000.

How we counted

  • Offices: Michigan personal injury practices with a Google Business Profile, from our Google data pull (September 2026). A lawyer's own listing at the firm's address isn't counted as another office (20 such listings). A firm is every office sharing a website.
  • Counties: each office is placed in its county by its map location, using Census Bureau county boundaries (TIGERweb). Population and centers of population: U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 Census. Distances are straight lines, not driving routes, and only offices in Michigan count: a firm just across the state line may be nearer.
  • Results: the individual verdicts and settlements of $1 million or more that each firm publishes on its own website, counted once per firm, without group settlements such as class actions. We keep each firm's 80 largest (1 firms list more). Each is linked to its source on the firm's profile.
  • Fees and hours: as each firm's website and Google listing state them.
