Frequently asked questions
Are there Spanish-speaking personal injury lawyers in Michigan?
Yes. 16 Michigan injury firms say on their own websites that they serve clients in Spanish, with 17 offices in Bloomfield Hills, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Okemos, Saginaw, Southfield, St. Clair Shores and St. Joseph: Morgan & Morgan, White Law PLLC, Thurswell Law, Koussan Law, Keller & Keller Injury Lawyers and The Nunley Law Group, PLLC and 10 more.
How did you find Spanish-speaking injury lawyers?
We read the website of every injury firm we list in Michigan and kept a firm only when a page says, in words, that it serves clients in Spanish: for example that its lawyers or staff speak Spanish, or that it provides Spanish interpreters. A translate button doesn't count. Each firm links to the page that says so. Some websites couldn't be read, so a firm may serve Spanish speakers without appearing here.
What should I ask a firm that says it speaks Spanish?
Whether the lawyer handling your case speaks Spanish, or whether a staff member or an interpreter will be on your calls and meetings, and whether your documents can be explained in Spanish. Ask about the fee in writing too: in Michigan, a personal injury lawyer's contingency fee can't be more than one-third of the recovery after case costs (MCR 8.121).
